Day 40 29/7/19 Abergele, North Wales to Rixton (near Manchester).

Day 40 29/7/19 Abergele, North Wales to Rixton (near Manchester).

Off to stay with Claire and Norman for a few days.

Weather was much improved today so we decided to re-visit the Great Orme when there was actually a view.

The drive around the Great Orme is spectacular but the road up to the summit is something else. Unlike the ring road, the summit road is two way but still mainly a one car road and it has four very sharp elbow bends which even the Vauxhall struggled to get around.

Castle gates near Abergele are now the entrance to the Golf Course

View of The Great Orme as we approach

Grand Hotel in Llundudno

Toll road around The Great Orme is one way at this point

Half way up, view back to Llundudno

Road is mainly right on the edge as it snakes around

Sheep on the cliffs

View from the Summit

Could barely see the Summit building a few days ago

Upper tram approaches

Getting closer

Wind turbines as far as the eye can see

There are a few black sheep in the flock

What a spot for a farmhouse

Cemetary and church about half way up summit road

Road is two way here

One of several elbows, road to right is one way.

This sheep enjoys the view

Whilst this one gets a bit adventurous in pursuit of tender shoots

On the other side of The Great Orme

A number of these are around Llundudno, Alice in Wonderland trail

Interesting loading gantry form a seaside Quarry
